Dividend from 2013 to 2020.

With value investing - A.K.A dividend investing out of favor in recent years.
I need to remain focus on what am I investing for? I have constructed a dividend
and growth portfolio that comprises 30% growth stocks with very little to no dividend
and yield stocks which will give \ me a dividend income so that I could reinvest into the
future should I decided to have delay gratification. Or I can choose to consume my
dividend should I choose to retire one day.. over the past 8 years my dividend income
grew by 13.2 % CAGR this of cos includes dividend reinvested into my portfolio.
Should I stop reinvesting now dividend income should be able to reach a growth
rate of 3% P.A as such total dividend received would be 226,000 when
I reached 65 years old. the next question would be how much would one pay for a
portfolio of 226k of dividend income.. that figure should be about 5M portfolio.
however, if I choose to reinvest the dividend back into the portfolio.
The return should be about 5% higher per year of which dividend income would be around 900 k per year.
Assuming I reached 65 years old.. this is the long game. haha, enjoy.

Recovering -

Dividend to date - 93k YTD with 22.6k unpaid but Ex.

Such that total portfolio value to be in the range of 2.7M

Overall we have lagged the market this year as our portfolio is more geared toward dividend yield stocks which are not very popular now. However, I think the intrinsic value of our portfolio should be in the range of 5-6M as our dividend per year has increased to 110-120k Projected in FY 2021.

: 114, Unpaid: USD 3,112.34 (SGD 4,228.49), SGD 17,378.23, HKD 0.14 (SGD 0.02), GBX 57,011.76 (SGD 1,034.14), Total in SGD 22,640.88

we are down by 470K from our peak after vesting close to 50k of new money this year.

-17.4% from peak..

Humbled by the market

Received a -624K decline this year bringing the decline to 27% YTD.

the decline increase by a factor of 1.2 due to the usage of leveraged .

In the good time bull market leveraged was widely used. This is not uncommon .

However some people uses more some people uses less.

For me my usage is simple i basically just used it and will use my dividend and income to repay it ..

Even than it was simply too much for me .

Well basically my portfolio investment portfolio reached back to the 2018 level when the market is at their multi year low.

All my gains for 2019 was wiped out in this event..

We are currently 624k away from my all time high .

Confirmed dividend announced is about 62k for half yearly . These amount would be reinvested back into the market during these unusual timing.

observation from the market - a lot of margin call or force selling which are reluctant sales that are triggered by funds redemptions or margin call. The low for STI at 2100 level after which strong rebound toward 2500 level expect consolidation near the 2300-2500 level before moving higher or lower from here.

Lets see..

The 1 in 38th chances of our life time .

WOW !!! .... Drop again... ZZZZ...  Net worth drop to slightly below SGD 3M....  Sian... If we looked at what has happened in the last 1 year itself our portfolio is pretty volatile reason being we had a focus portfolio of 20-30 holdings. The Month to date drop was about 6.5% for this month as and the total decline for YTD about 9% . as the platform did not update the US market decline last night ..

So what do we do ?? We panic and sell.. Of cost not .. For a season investor that had been thru the 2008 financial crisis , this decline is nothing new..

There had been a total of 38 decline of more than 10% decline since WW2 according to an article published by GS. The odds is clear investing is a long term game and to build wealth, one must be able to endure the volatility. The most important question right now should be ? Are you sure of what you are buying ?

So now the next question should be if it drop to more than 20% whats next,  congrats your odds has just reduce further to 1 in 12 chances in your life time.

Had it dropped to more than 60% ? congrats once in your lifetime... must wack jia luk jia luk.

If drop more than that ?? don't worry a lot of billionaires must have lost more than you haha !!!
